INTRODUCTION, PURPOSE AND SCOPE

Vel Tech High Tech Dr.Rangarajan Dr.Sakunthala Engineering College is committed to transparent, responsible and continuously improving institutional practice. This IIPC Policy establishes the framework to strengthen structured collaboration between the Institution and industry for curriculum relevance, internships, training, consultancy, research, innovation and employability.

3. SCOPE
All departments, students, faculty members, industry partners, professional bodies and collaborative projects undertaken through the Institution.

- Develop internships, industrial visits, expert lectures and industry-supported laboratories.
- Promote consultancy, sponsored research, testing and technology transfer.
- Support curriculum enrichment, faculty exposure and student employability.
- Build sustainable and outcome-oriented institutional partnerships.

POLICY FRAMEWORK
5. GUIDING PRINCIPLES
- Partnerships shall align with academic purpose, student safety and institutional reputation.
- Commitments shall be documented through approved MoU, agreement or activity sanction.
- Confidentiality, intellectual property and financial terms shall be defined before project commencement.
- Student participation shall include appropriate supervision, consent and assessment.
- Partnership effectiveness shall be measured by outcomes, not only number of MoUs.
6. GENERAL POLICY COMMITMENT
The Institution shall implement this policy through approved roles, adequate resources, documented procedures, transparent communication and measurable review. Decisions and exceptions shall be recorded and authorized by the competent authority.

7.1 IMPLEMENTATION REQUIREMENTS
- IIPC shall maintain an industry database and annual engagement plan.
- Departments shall identify sector needs, potential partners and collaboration objectives.
- MoUs shall undergo academic, legal/administrative and financial review before approval.
- Industry experts may support curriculum review, teaching, project mentoring and assessment as approved.
- Internships and industrial training shall define duration, learning outcomes, supervision, safety and evaluation.

7.2 IMPLEMENTATION REQUIREMENTS
- Consultancy and sponsored projects shall follow research, finance, IP and conflict-of-interest policies.
- Industry-supported laboratories/equipment shall have clear ownership, maintenance and access terms.
- Faculty industrial training and collaborative development shall be encouraged and recorded.
- Partner feedback and student/faculty outcomes shall be reviewed after major activities.
- Inactive, risky or non-performing partnerships may be revised, suspended or closed.

- The Principal approves strategic partnerships and institutional commitments.
- The IIPC Coordinator manages partners, MoUs, activities and outcome reporting.
- HODs identify needs and ensure academic integration.
- Faculty coordinators supervise students and maintain evidence.
- Industry partners meet agreed deliverables, safety and confidentiality requirements.

- Conduct due diligence and define expected outcomes.
- Prepare, review and approve MoU/activity proposal.
- Implement with nominated coordinators and records.

12. CONFIDENTIALITY, RETENTION AND ACCESS
Records shall be accurate, retrievable and protected against unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction. Access shall be role-based and limited to legitimate institutional need. Retention and disposal shall follow the approved schedule and applicable requirements.
13. NON-COMPLIANCE
Non-compliance may result in corrective action, withdrawal of access or benefit, recovery of loss, disciplinary action, referral to a statutory body or other proportionate action after due process.

REVIEW AND APPROVAL
14. REVIEW AND AMENDMENT
The policy owner shall review this document at the stated cycle or earlier due to changes in law, regulation, institutional structure, technology, risk, audit findings or stakeholder requirements. Amendments shall take effect only after approval and version control.
