INTRODUCTION, PURPOSE AND SCOPE

Vel Tech High Tech Dr.Rangarajan Dr.Sakunthala Engineering College recognises that placement is essential to institutional quality, accountability and stakeholder confidence. This policy establishes a structured framework to provide equitable career preparation, internship and placement opportunities through transparent processes, employer engagement and responsible student participation.

  1. Opportunities shall be communicated fairly to eligible students.
  2. Students shall provide truthful academic, skill and personal information.
  3. Employer requirements shall be respected unless they conflict with law or institutional policy.
  4. No placement outcome shall be falsely represented or counted without verification.
  5. Students shall maintain professional conduct and honour accepted commitments subject to approved rules.

6. GENERAL POLICY COMMITMENT

The Institution shall implement this policy through approved roles, adequate resources, documented procedures, transparent communication and measurable review. Decisions and exceptions shall be recorded and authorized by the competent authority.

Interpretation: This policy shall be read with applicable laws, statutory regulations, autonomous academic regulations, service rules and approved institutional procedures. Where a conflict arises, the higher legal or statutory requirement shall prevail.

7.1 IMPLEMENTATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. The Cell shall publish annual training and placement plans based on branch-wise skill gaps and employer expectations.
  2. Student profiles shall be verified from institutional records before sharing with employers.
  3. Employer/agency authenticity and role details shall be checked before campus engagement.
  4. Eligibility, compensation, location, bond/service conditions and selection stages shall be communicated as received.
  5. Training may include aptitude, communication, technical skills, coding, group discussion, interview, resume and workplace readiness.

7.2 IMPLEMENTATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Internships shall have approved learning objectives, supervision and completion evidence.
  2. Placement attendance, offer acceptance, multiple-offer and withdrawal rules shall be published and applied consistently.
  3. Students shall report offers obtained through campus or independent routes for verified institutional records.
  4. Sensitive student data shall be shared only for legitimate recruitment purposes through approved channels.
  5. Placement statistics shall distinguish offers, unique students placed, internships, higher studies and entrepreneurship.

  • Employers provide genuine role information and fair selection processes.

Escalation: Delays, control failures, safety concerns, suspected misconduct or non-compliance shall be escalated through the designated reporting hierarchy without suppressing or altering records.

12. CONFIDENTIALITY, RETENTION AND ACCESS

Records shall be accurate, retrievable and protected against unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction. Access shall be role-based and limited to legitimate institutional need. Retention and disposal shall follow the approved schedule and applicable requirements.

13. NON-COMPLIANCE

Non-compliance may result in corrective action, withdrawal of access or benefit, recovery of loss, disciplinary action, referral to a statutory body or other proportionate action after due process.

The policy owner shall review this document at the stated cycle or earlier due to changes in law, regulation, institutional structure, technology, risk, audit findings or stakeholder requirements. Amendments shall take effect only after approval and version control.
