National Innovation Start-up Policy (NISP)
Vel Tech High Tech Dr.Rangarajan Dr.Sakunthala Engineering College (VTHT) is keen to join the campaign towards implementing National Innovation and Start-up Policy (NISP) under the aegis of the Ministry of Education Innovation Cell (MIC) and adopted the similar policy framed by MIC. This policy envisage in promoting innovation and start-up ecosystem among the students and faculty of Higher Education Institute.

Institutions Innovation Council and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IIC & EDC) of Vel Tech High Tech Dr.Rangarajan Dr.Sakunthala Engineering College have two operational wings, namely i-Club (Innovation Club) and e-cell (entrepreneurship Cell). Keeping in line with the vision & mission of the institution, Innovation Club and EDC aimed at excellence in technology facilitating innovation, start-up and entrepreneurship.
IIC & EDC's objective is to mentor and inspire students as they transform their concepts into new products, teach them how to assess market opportunities, and help them go from invention to commercialization. Our management has always aimed to keep the institution at the forefront of technological advancements and other major world trends.
Institutions Innovation Council (IIC)
Ministry of Education (MoE) formally known as the government of India's Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has created the "MHRD's Innovation Cell (MIC)" to systematically promote the innovation culture among Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The main goal of MIC is to encourage, motivate, and nurture young pupils by assisting them as they develop new ideas into prototypes throughout their formative years.In the process, VTHT has started Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) in August 2018 and formed a council comprising of internal faculty members and external experts to monitor the progress and activities of IIC on campus.

IITM Rural Technology Business Incubator
The Rural Technology and Business Incubator (RTBI) at IIT Madras was founded in October 2006 and is a legally recognised non-profit organisation. Its goal is to foster start-ups that use ICT to benefit rural and underprivileged socioeconomic sectors (Information and Communication Technologies).

IITM Healthcare Technology innovation centre
The main goal of the Medtech Incubator is to create a network of healthcare entrepreneurs who can offer cutting-edge, cost-effective, and useful Medtech solutions and products for the Indian society. The incubator offers extensive support to start-ups and business owners engaged in healthcare and technology-related endeavours. MTI goes above and beyond by offering a motivating workspace for healthcare enthusiasts to work on nascent concepts.

Vel Tech High Tech Dr. Rangarajan Dr. Sakunthala Engineering to promote technological developments, colleges has close tie ups with industry. In order to help faculty and students, the college has undergone Memorandums of Understanding with industries/companies.

IP Policy
Vel Tech High Tech Dr. Rangarajan Dr. Sakunthala Engineering College has its own IP policy to facilitate filings of patents by students and faculty. Till date, the policy has facilitated filing of more than 50 + patent applications from students and faculty. The IP policy document is available below for reference in Annexure – 2.
