At Vel Tech High Tech Dr. Rangarajan Dr. Sakunthala Engineering College, we believe that quality education extends beyond classrooms—it is about nurturing innovative minds, fostering critical thinking, and preparing students to become competent professionals capable of addressing the challenges of a rapidly evolving world. Our curriculum is continuously revised in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles, AICTE guidelines, and the emerging needs of industry and society. Through interdisciplinary learning, project-based education, experiential learning, internships, industry-driven electives, value-added courses, NPTEL certifications, and self-learning initiatives, we strive to develop technically competent, ethically responsible, and socially conscious engineers. The institution's commitment to academic excellence is further strengthened through continuous curriculum enrichment, innovative pedagogical practices, effective assessment strategies, and robust industry-academia collaboration.
A significant milestone in our academic journey is the establishment of the AICTE IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation & Application) Lab, funded by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, with a grant of ₹90 Lakhs. The AICTE IDEA Lab serves as a multidisciplinary innovation and prototyping hub equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and advanced technologies that empower students and faculty to transform creative ideas into innovative products and technology solutions. The facility promotes design thinking, rapid prototyping, product development, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary research by providing access to modern tools, fabrication facilities, electronics laboratories, additive manufacturing systems, IoT platforms, robotics, artificial intelligence, Edge AI, and advanced computing resources. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to collaborate, innovate, and develop solutions addressing real-world industrial and societal challenges through this unique ecosystem.
As an autonomous institution, we have introduced several progressive academic initiatives that enrich the learning experience, including industry-led courses, integrated laboratory components, structured term-work activities, experiential learning modules, micro-projects, hackathons, research-driven assignments, and comprehensive self-learning resources. Our emphasis on research, innovation, patents, publications, and technology commercialization enables students to actively participate in national and international competitions, funded research projects, start-up initiatives, and entrepreneurial ventures.

As Dean-School of Mechanical and Civil Engineering at Vel Tech High Tech Dr.Rangarajan Dr.Sakunthala Engineering College, I really feel privileged to Welcome all young minds to our Campus.
The major challenge for today’s Engineering Educational Institutions is to accommodate the ever varying aspirations of the younger generation because of increasingly changing demand and development in industries. We constantly put efforts to accommodate these aspirations by fine tuning the academics of college with innovative and practical oriented Teaching - Learning practices along with other developmental activities
Our goal is to change the world through education. It may be sound idealistic, but this is precisely our long term goal and can be achieved by everyone from our Mechanical and Civil Engineering Programs through faculty and staff and in turn to Students and Alumni.
Our Mechanical and Civil Programs has the vision to produce Quality Engineers to meet the industrial challenges of the current requirement/ present scenario. We focus on our students by providing them with a world-class outcome based education and hands-on experience through research. We prepare graduates who are not only well equipped in Engineering subjects and software engineering fundamentals, but also have the ability to integrate the learning across the foundation areas to apply them in practical situations.
Our Programs Result and Placement speaks about our excellence with many of our students bringing laurel to the college by getting highest ranking in university exams and huge number of Placements in National & Multinational Companies with good salary packages and it is achieved through Activities Beyond Classroom (ABC). Moreover our Students’ creativity and determination is evident by their continuous success in various fields.
My advice is always to have great thinking, Work plan, develop Self-Confidence with more hopes , make self assessment & strengthen your potential, keep on updating all recent Innovative ideas through continuous learning & develop technical skills through hands on work practices .
